Market statistics for home sales year-to-year in Walnut Creek, Lafayette and Pleasant Hill are all over the board and seem to be bucking some recent trends.

Between January 2017 and January 2018, the average sales price for a home in Walnut Creek saw an increase in 14.5% from an average home sale price of $1,009,983 in 2017 to $1,156,125 in January of 2018. Through all of last year, Walnut Creek home sales saw an average appreciation of 5.8% so this year is certainly starting out strong for the city.

Pleasant Hill home sales saw an even greater disparity with a year over year change of 19.1% with home sales at an average price of $903,091. This is due in large part to Walnut Creek being too pricey for some home buyers who overflow into neighboring Pleasant Hill.

Finally, average home sales in Lafayette through January took a dive seeing an average home sale price difference of -26.7% for an average sale price of $1,157,500. This is down from an average home sale price in January 2017 at $1,580,000.

Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Lafayette home sales will continue to fluctuate up and down, but continue to rise. The real estate market is fickle, but as any good real estate agent will tell you right now, it's a great time to sell!
